Additional information

This paper summarises the results of a collaborative research project between the Swansea University College of Engineering, The MathWorks Ltd, and The Bloodhound Programme Ltd in which the Swansea University FLITE CFD system was used as part of a Design of Experiments optimisation approach to design the rear wheel and suspension geometry of the Bloodhound SSC. The design resulting from this study has been frozen into the overall design of the vehicle which is, at the time of writing, being built with the view to attempt a 1,000 mph World Land Speed Record in 2014.
