Additional information

Reports the successful development and performance testing of novel manganese-based sorbent materials having exceedingly high capacity for oxidative mercury capture from natural gas and the flue gas streams from power generation and waste incineration. Patents have been granted in the UK (PCT/GB2008050056), US (US8328908) and Australia (AU2008211707 B2). Commercial exploitation of the adsorbents technology is underway e.g. with Apex Instruments, Inc., a US-based company (Contact: William H. Howe, the president, whowe@apexinst.com).
