This research on inkjet printed liquid crystal lasers was featured on a number of media websites including the BBC News website (http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/science-environment-19641112) and led to a patent filing (PCT/GB2013/051368) and a strategic research project funded by the Cambridge Integrated Knowledge Centre (“PORTALS” £30k, internal Ref: NMZE/106). The research published in this paper forms the basis of the technology of the Spin-out company, Ilumink Ltd (http://www.ilumink.com/) supported by the Royal Academy of Engineering’s Enterprise fund.
