The data described in this paper were presented at an invited keynote symposium at the 2011 annual meeting of the European Society for Cataract and Refractive Surgeons (ECSRS). This keynote presentation was then chosen by the ECSRS for a special report in the ECSRS professional journal 'Eurotimes' (see http://escrs.org/publications/eurotimes/12June/presbyopia.pdf ). In addition, pre-publication versions of the data were used in two separate numerical modelling studies conducted in Oxford, funded by the German company Rowiak (http://www.rowiak.de/, contact details available), in connection with their development work on new forms of laser surgery in ophthalmology.
