Additional information

This paper relates to work carried out with regards to adapting to climate change, a key focus of my research work. This was initially kick started by a successful bid for British Council funding under the Windsor Treaty and enabled partnership work with the University of the Azores. Part of this work involved carrying out a hazard and risk analysis of a case study area on Sao Miguel, Azores (Lameiras et al., 2009) and directly and indirectly lead to a further 7 papers on adaptation by the Author, including Park, Gallagher and Galley (2010).
