Additional information

Griffiths co-authored the introduction to the volume and was sole author of chapter seven. He was jointly responsible for the selection of contributors and their disposition across the several chapters. He copy-edited and oversaw revisions to half of the chapters making up the book. Through his work on the changing nature of leisure and work in the nineteenth century, Griffiths sought to place changes in the understanding and experience of time at the centre of the changing nature of everyday life through the period, bringing out points of comparison across Scotland and the wider world.
