Akten zur Auswaertigen Politik der Bundesrepublik Deutschland – 1977, the annual publication of selected files from the German Foreign Office. As one of the editors for the 1977 volumes, Hilfrich was responsible for selecting the documents that went into the volume and he prepared three months (January, February and May = ca. 350 pages) for publication. This task involved extensive footnoting to explain the documents and to contextualise them with other documents in the Foreign Office that are not included in the publication itself. AAPD have been recognized as one of the premier document collections on foreign policy/diplomatic history worldwide.
