Ayisi and Brylla have collaborated on several film projects, including “Zanzibar Soccer Queens” (q.v.). In addition to his practice as film-maker and editor, Brylla’s research into audience reception, aesthetics and hermeneutics, defined the particular perspective he brought to the output.

Ayisi’s contribution to the output derived from her interest in the visibility of African people and cultures. Her practice-based research as a writer and film-maker draws on ideas and concepts related to post-colonial theory, cultural representations, transnational cinemas, Diaspora studies, feminism, and ethnographic film.
