Addressing the degradation issue of one of the most promising direct liquid fuel cells, this work proposed and proved a novel technique for regeneration, which is much more convenient and effective than the previously proposed options. This paper has received a good number of citations (27 as of November 2013). More importantly, this technique has been successfully applied internationally by several groups and has played an important role in their research [ e.g. Takuya Tsujiguchi, et al, Journal of Power Sources 223 (2013) 42- 49; Guangzhi Hua, Florian Nitzea, et al, Journal of Power Sources 209 (2012) 236– 242.]
