Additional information

<23> The algorithm proposed in this paper was developed specifically with the properties of fluorescence imaging of plant growth in mind. It reports uncertainty, enabling quantitative motion analyses to be performed robustly. This research was part of the BBSRC-funded project “Computer visualisation and modelling of plant morphogenesis: A dynamic toolkit for cell expansion and fluorescent cell reporters in roots” (BBS/B/16720, £516k) in collaboration with the Scottish Crop Research Institute and Plant Sciences, University of Cambridge. The software described is being used in ongoing research on root growth and is being published in the plant biology literature (Planta, 2011, DOI: 10.1007/s00425-011-1435-7).
