Ling’s practice-led research is concerned with the calligraphic mark-making process. In his series of works ‘Pyrographic Calligraphy’ Ling investigates how he can use hot molten glass on paper developing this approach to the calligraphic process, and has created a series of works which bring together pyrography, mark making with hot glass and hand written calligraphy to bring new layers of interpretation to calligraphy. The works from this series have been exhibited and published in:
