<07> This paper proposes a new Grid authentication and authorization infrastructure that combines Shibboleth with VOMS and PERMIS technologies. To the best of our knowledge, the work presented in this paper signifies the first attempt in the research communities to systematically address the design and implementation of this new Grid security infrastructure and architecture. The application of proposed Grid security infrastructure was demonstrated in real e-social science domain applications. Our work is part of the EPSRC funded “e-Infrastructure for Social Science” project, and has been integrated into the overall infrastructure.
