Additional information

This paper presents a new composite fly ash based material that has self-sensing capability. This led to the unsolicited invitation to deliver a keynote contribution at Technocontrucction, 2012, Innovation and Technological advances in Construction, Cali, Colombia, 2012 supported by the award of £5k travel funding. The unpublished part of this research led to two patent applications: Smart Paint PE955137US and Wireless Smart Pebbles Sensors PE955395GB.
