Additional information

This paper is a development of earlier pioneering work at Teesside and demonstrated the first application of CEAS as a detector for HPLC.

This work led directly to the formation of a university spinout company, Anasyst. A US patent (US8325342B2) has been granted, and the IP is exclusively licensed to Anasyst (r.duggan@anasyst.com) which is developing the approach for bioassay with enhanced sensitivity (up to x100 higher than existing instruments). Anasyst are presently also involved in a €1.6m FP7 project (CE-microArray) to develop cavity enhanced spectroscopic technologies.
