This paper arose out of a collaboration with the research groups of Professor Gus Hancock (contact gus.hancock@chem.ox.ac.uk) and Dr Grant Ritchie (contact grant.ritchie@chem.ox.ac.uk) at Oxford University and forms part of the Analytical Instrumentation, Measurement and Control Engineering work of the Technology Futures Institute. The work led directly to a patent (ISIS7028, Teesside University has a 10% share, contact mary.bispham@admin.ox.ac.uk ) which was exclusively licensed by Oxford University's commercial arm (ISIS Innovations) to a spinout company (Oxford Medical Diagnostics) (http://www.omdiagnostics.com/).
