This work arose from an EPSRC iCASE award (04301931) with IDS Ltd for which Ali was PI. The output develops a model that predicts the SAM growth and degree of ordering as a function of immersion time with a range of applications including wear inhibitors, catalysis and sensor elements, graphene p-n junctions and biosensors.
