Additional information

The development of analytical instrumentation for the measurement of two-phase flow is a key challenge for a number of industries and in particular the oil and gas sector. There are a number of competing technologies with different attributes however the theoretical understanding of their performance is incomplete.

This work, part of our Analytical Instrumentation, Measurement and Control Engineering team, compared the utility of optical, hot-film and Pitot tube measurements of multiphase flow and demonstrated consistency between predictive CFD modelling and real outputs.
