Double-weighted statement

My monograph The Birth of British Television qualifies as a double weighted item for the purposes of REF because of its extensive and original use of primary sources drawn from archives that are not open access, something that took several years of research. These archives include the BBC Written Archive Centre, the Post Office Archive and various newspapers that are un-indexed and available only on microfilm. These sources were interwoven and analysed for use in my book, where they underpinned my critical exploration of the changing expectations of television in the earliest years of the medium.
