Corporate governance and corporate performance: UK FTSE 350 companies
The output is a comprehensive study of the association between corporate governance and performance for large UK companies over the period 1999 to 2004, which was a time of changes in governance and reversals in market conditions. The work required obtaining funding and significant data acquisition. It covers in depth the relationship between corporate governance and measures of performance and with risk characterised in different ways. These aspects might have been separate journal articles. The work includes an extensive exploration of the possibility endogeneity within the data set, which was not at that time routine for work in the field.
