Significance of output:

Dr Kadem Al-Lamee (kadem.allamee@arterius.co.uk), MD of Arterius Ltd, recently commented that “the successful results (in this paper) led us to fully fund (£144K) a project to explore a novel design of a fully biodegradable coronary stent”. This paper has also led to collaboration with the large biomedical device company, Medtronic, initially including support of £30K for a PhD project investigating the design of coronary stents for challenging disease. The company hopes that this research will help to design the next generation of Integrity devices. Finally, one of the journal reviewers complemented the “advanced nature of the study”.
