Authoring the Past

In his edited text Authoring the Past Alun Munslow collected fifteen responses to the significant question ‘why do you write and think about history as you do?’ All invitees are practitioner historians as well theorists of history and are all of international repute. In the collection Professor Munslow commented at some length in his Introduction on the significance of the variety of replies to ‘the invitation’. The exercise was an original as well as an interventionist contribution to the understanding of the ecology of the thinking and practice of a wide range of historians over fifteen years.
