Energy-Efficient Multihop Cooperative MISO Transmission with Optimal Hop Distance in Wireless Ad Hoc Networks
This paper unified different strategies to improve energy efficiency in wireless ad hoc networks. It addressed key concerns as to whether the integration of two different technologies could achieve the best trade-off between performance and resource cost. The new method results in a global optimal design of transmission protocols with minimised energy consumption. This design model has been used in a successful application for an industrial sponsored research project (£43k) by RIM (Research In Motion, Dr Rob Harrison, rharrison@blackberry.com), to develop an optimisation algorithm for mobile networks.
