Additional information

Turbine tone haystacking was cited as a serious unsolved problem by aero-industry leaders at the Aero-acoustics Research Consortium in 2008. The work described in this paper was funded by the 6th Framework Programme with strong support from Rolls-Royce. The success of this work prompted continued study based on the principles outlined in this paper at the University of Southampton.
