Additional information

Paper provides complete rigorous analysis of the clipping noise which is unavoidable for various OFDM-based optical systems due to nonlinearities of the optical front-end. Simulation results confirm the theoretical findings which provide a way forward in optimising future optical wireless communication designs. The work was supported by EADS-UK. This extended optimal strategy work was also published in S. Dimitrov, S. Sinanovic, and H. Haas, "Signal Shaping and Modulation for Optical Wireless Communication," J. Lightwave Technol. 30, 1319-1328 (2012).
