Additional information

For the first time 3D dislocation dynamics simulations have been combined with diffraction post processing. Hence we clarified the influence of 3D dislocation strain and rotation fields on diffraction peak shape. This work is the foundation for a collaboration with Brian Abbey at LaTrobe University, Melbourne, Australia to develop Single Dislocation Coherent Diffractive Imaging (SD CDI). This project has received international recognition through the highly competitive, peer-reviewed block allocation of 15 days of experimental time at the Advanced Photon Source, Illinois, USA (GUP-29892) and has recently been awarded funding from the Australian Research Council (DP130101835).
