Additional information

This work produced a novel methodology for the generation of Compact Thermal Models (CTMs) for mixed convection regimes in aircraft interiors. The CTMs were validated on an industrial problem in collaboration with the industrial partner (Airbus) as significant deliverable of the FP7 MAAXIMUS project (Dr. Matthieu Thomas).

The resulting models were delivered to Airbus to be integrated in a higher order numerical model for the stress and thermal analysis of aircraft barrel sections.

The methodology developed has provided the basis for the development of research projects on natural ventilation phenomena in the built environment (Dr. Marcus Keane-NUIG)
