<20> Prototype Augmented Reality Head Up Display for navigation under adverse weather conditions. The idea stemmed from the need to equip the patented Dynamically and Configurable Vehicle (2 patents, GB2402658-A, GB2424398-A) with a sophisticated navigation and guidance system. The HUD project EPSRC [GR/P00352/01], involved national and international bodies such as the Strathclyde Police, Volkswagen, TU Delft, Chalmers Institute of Technology. The author’s stemming papers from this work have been cited by Google and Microsoft research Centres. The system evaluation followed industry standards and was achieved with the use of prototype open source driving simulator developed for testing HUD interfaces.
