Additional information

Prior creep damage in steam pipes due to material degradation and ageing is incorporated, for the first time, into the creep life assessment of weld repairs. This has resulted in improved safety strategies for devising weld repairs of partially damaged steam pipes in power generation plants. The paper describes the work which underpins the further developments in the SUPERGEN Phase II EPSRC project (EP/F029748/1, 2008-2012).
