Additional information

This article originated from an international comparative survey commissioned by the London Development Agency (Creative London) and Toronto Metro City/Ontario Provincial governments. Outputs include an international scoping study, online database and three city case study reports (London, Barcelona, Berlin) based on fieldwork and a web based archive of 100+ cities. The study was used by several cities in their creative industries strategy development and has been widely disseminated through keynotes given by the author in Istanbul (Capital of Culture 2010), Seoul (UNESCO/British Council), Shanghai (EXPO 2010), Lleida, Grenoble and Toronto. The study was augmented and updated to include further cities and smaller/large city comparative analysis, published in the International Journal of Cultural Administration (Beijing, 2012). It was the 'most read' Urban Studies (Sage) article in 2010, 2011 and No.2 in Nov. 2013.
