Additional information

<29> This paper provides important empirical evidence on the learning effectiveness of an innovative computer game that we have developed that continually adapts to the learner's style to personalise the learning experience. An RCT is used to add rigour lacking from many evaluations of serious games. This is the first adaptive game that we are aware of to teach programming (SQL) at HE level and utilises a new instructional approach that promises to be a most effective supplementary teaching approach and have implications for the way that programming languages are taught at HE level in the future.
