Significance of output:

The existence of Gaussian noise interference within communication signals represents a major problem and is one that acts to increase bit error rates in communications systems. A new noise-reduction methodology is described here which, for the first time, is shown successfully to remove Gaussian noise interference. By mitigating the noise imposed by communication devices and by preserving discontinuities associated with communication signals, this research has the potential to increase the robustness of communication systems at the presence of Gaussian noise.
