This essay introduces a special edition of the journal co-edited by Heddon and Mackey. Heddon and her co-editor jointly planned the issue and call for papers, reviewed abstracts, read submissions, divided the initial editorialising of articles equally and reread all the revised articles for final comment. This essay was jointly co-authored – both authors planned the article, shared the research process, and then wrote separate sections of it, dividing the writing equally. The authors contributed 50% of the work equally.
