The work forms the basis for the development of an analytical model to predict elastic stiffness of advanced textile/composite structures and was a culmination of PhD activity and several research programs (TSB funded/Private Venture Capital Funding) with industry being led by Rolls-Royce fan blades systems. The work has been presented at high profile conferences and collaborative research has evolved with Bristol, Nottingham and Oxford through the provision of material, equipment usage and student exchanges. Further conference and journal publications have been produced and presentations to Rolls-Royce UTCs.
