Additional information

<10>This paper produces the first scheme where users can have a variety of attributes issued by different, not necessarily cooperating, authorities, and can sign documents requiring certain combinations of attributes without giving away his identity or exactly which attributes are being relied on. A tracing authority, suitably empowered, can work out the user and attributes, but neither it not anyone else can forge signatures. This paper inspired further work on anonymity in group signatures by Patel and Jinwala (doi:10.1007/978-3-642-29280-4_58).
