This paper reports a camera with a novel pixel which can capture images over 6 orders of magnitude of intensity (compared to 3 in a typical camera), and which has the ability to directly display high-intensities on typical displays without further processing. A patent has been applied for (WO2012GB52104 20120828). Led to; commercialisation by Awaiba, Plessey Semiconductor and IP Group (contact details available) ; invited talks at ST Micro and Aptina; a Euro1.5M research grant from the European Commission (EDISON-GA); a £1.5M grant from EPSRC (Supercamera - EP/J018678/1), and a proof of concept grant from Centre of Defence Enterprise (CDE24650).
