A study on the flow field and local heat transfer performance due to geometric scaling of centrifugal fans
This addressed the need for low cost/weight thermal management. Through Nokia Siemens Networks the technology was adapted for implementation into the next generation of active antenna. It was demonstrated that the weight of the thermal management solution could be reduced by ~90% compared to existing state of the art, with a prototype demonstrated at NSN technology internal research forum in 2012. The implementation of the technology is expected in 2013/2014. My PhD student was awarded best European PhD-theses in Thermal Sciences by EUROTHERM 2012 for this research.
