This work was initiated under the same collaborative DTI programme (TP/3/SMS/6/1/15781 – Direct Laser Point of Processing) described for the previous output – but explores a fundamentally different approach – in which the laser energy is used to induce precipitation, transport and deposition of a coating within a liquid sol rather than in-situ solid phase transformations of a previously deposited coating. The collaborators and proposed exploitation path are the same as for output 1.
