It incorporates analysis from a wide range of primary sources including law codes, penitentials, hagiographical tracts, chronicles, poetry and sagas written in a range of languages (Latin, Old English, Middle Welsh, Old Norse, Old Irish) to explore the extreme cultural/social significance of slavery for medieval Britain and Ireland.
