Additional information

The novel approach to symmetry pioneered in this paper led to Dr Guest being invited to act as primary speaker at the Fields Institute Workshop on Rigidity and Symmetry in October 2011. Further, it has directly influenced the inclusion of 'symmetry' in the objectives of the workshop at the Banff International Research Station on 'Rigidity Theory: Progress, Applications and Key Open Problems' in July 2012. It has also led to further mathematical developments by Dr Bernd Schulze at the University of Lancaster.
