Significance of output:

The paper proposes various novel Turbo Trellis Coded Modulation (TTCM) schemes that are capable of offering a high transmission rate while operating within 0.5dB from the Rayleigh fading channel capacity. Our TTCM schemes outperform all existing TTCM schemes when transmitting over Rayleigh fading channels. Hence, they are both power- and bandwidth-efficient and, therefore, constitute promising coding candidates for next-generation wireless standards. The work described in this paper featured in a Wiley-IEEE book on Turbo Coding, contributed to our successful EU OPTIMIX project (6M+ Euros) and has been adopted by researchers at various international universities (e.g. s_sadough@sbu.ac.ir).
