Double-weighted statement

This 90,000 word monograph is of substantial scale and scope, offering an empirical investigation of immigration, culture and racism on the periphery of London, New York City and Paris. It is based upon seven years research funded by the ESRC and British Academy. This extended project involved numerous site visits and yielded fifty-three interviews, over twenty of which were conducted in French and were subsequently translated. The book required a comprehensive literature review of three national contexts and secondary research of planning and newspaper archives, some of which also required translation.
