Precise interference analysis of OFDMA time-asynchronous wireless ad-hoc networks
The work provides accurate theoretical analysis into time synchronization in OFDM based wireless networks and a simple interference-mitigating technique to improve the overall spectral efficiency of such networks. The main outcome, namely if all of the transmitted symbols are received within the cyclic prefix duration then the resulting multiple access interference is minimized, has inspired other research in interference-free multiple access protocols (DOI: 10.1109/TWC.2011.122211.102316), routing in ad hoc networks (DOI: 10.4218/etrij.13.0112.0450), advance detection techniques for asynchronous OFDMA based ad hoc networks (DOI: 10.1109/TVT.2012.2202254 ), and recently in OFDMA underwater acoustic communications (DOI: 10.1109/OCEANS-Yeosu.2012.6263506) and OFDMA femtocells (DOI: 10.1109/GLOCOM.2010.5683959).
