Additional information

The dominant power electronics FACTS devices (DVR, STATCOM, SVC) are modelled in detail for static fault calculation in large networks. The approach resulted in significant improvement in voltage sag calculation in large networks, as it uses standard static fault calculation, avoiding time-consuming transient simulations (numerical integration) while preserving the accuracy of the results. The paper has influenced the work of a number of research groups (e.g. 10.1109/TPWRD.2011.2161496; 10.1049/iet-pel.2012.0149, etc.) and led to further industrial funding (E.On UK) and EU FP7 grant (SuSTAINABLE). Developed models are also included in the Industrial Electronics Handbook, CRC-Press, 2011 (ISBN 9781466507982).
