Additional information

This paper addresses the industrially motivated problem of extracting chemical composition of a sample from spectroscopic measurements in the presence of frequently encountered shifts in spectral peaks. Such shifts normally induce large estimation errors when quantifying chemical composition of a given sample. The proposed method overcomes this problem and therefore greatly facilitates incorporation of spectroscopic instruments in real-time control of product quality for a wide range of specialty chemical and pharmaceutical industry sectors (Novartis, contact details available).
