Additional information

Smart fabrics and novel electronic devices rely more and more on the preparation of reliable stretchable conductors. The innovative approach taken here stems from previous works by the authors (P Lemoine and PD Maguire) on hydrogenated amorphous carbon (a-C:H). This novel process resulted in a bi-axial strain relief as well as the formation of a graded layer, both effects contributing to improve the fatigue resistance of the conductor. The work resulted in oral presentations at two international workshops on stretchable conductors.(EMRS Fall 2011, Warsaw, Poland, FlexStretch 2011- Berlin, Germany).
