Additional information

In collaboration with a multinational medical device manufacturer based in Ireland (Medtronic), and Arkema France Ltd we report the outcomes of a detailed investigation into the ageing of a co-polymer used in the manufacture of catheter balloons. The work led to an invited talk at a UK Medical Device trade show (Mediplas Birmingham Aug 2012-Medical Polymer News 2012) and to further industrial collaboration with a medical device SME (crobinson@haemobandsurgical.com). The work has also informed changes to the ageing protocols used in a number of US/Canadian based medical device companies (mark.e.young@medtronic.com. & hkim@baylismedical.com).
