Additional information

The research informing this paper builds on the development by the researchers of a portable EIT device for breast cancer detection. The paper presents the results of conductivity reconstructions using real data collected by the device, stengthening previous simulations carried out by the research team. An improved device is currently under test and clinical trials are about to start at Dr Schuhfried Medizintechnik GmbH (Vienna), a company certified under ISO 13485:2003 which builds electro-medical equipment for the entire European market. The research has been the subject of three plenary talks and six invited talks at international forums on inverse problems.
