Additional information

The work presented in this paper advances the design capability and optimisation of cathodic protection systems for historic steel framed structures. It was conducted within a programme of research funded by a Royal Society Industrial Fellowship which seconded Lambert to work within Mangat’s group. Projects gained by Lambert’s employer (Mott MacDonald) utilising the output of this research include renovation of the former Reuters Building, Fleet Street, London and optimisation of the proposed cathodic protection design for repairing the structural steel frame of the former Battersea Power Station.
