Additional information

<29> This paper is the first to present linguistic fingerprinting as a basis to distinguish deceptive digital personas in online social networks. The results have been used by law enforcement agencies for child protection, formed the basis of new hands-on Internet safety lessons for school children, received international news media coverage, were selected as one of the 100 Big ideas of the Future by RCUK/UUK and formed input to the Select Committee for Child Protection. The techniques are at the heart of a spin-out company commercialising the technology through external venture capital.
