<13> Proposes a framework for the analysis and identification of ‘irregular’ bit elimination patterns that can be used to fine-tune the trade off between error resilience and bandwidth occupancy of a turbo code. Existing ‘regular’ bit elimination patterns (e.g. remove every other bit) offer limited flexibility and are not always optimal, i.e. they do not yield the best error-rate performance for the same bandwidth occupancy. The paper was published in the IEEE Transactions on Communications, which is a top ranked journal (IF: 1.750).
